CSI's/Cops
Gil Grissom
Age: 51
Depiction: CSI Level III, Supervisor
History: He grew up in Marina Del Rey, California. His father, who was in the importing/exporting business died when he was nine years old, most likely from heat stroke. His mother ran an art gallery in Venice. He says that in high school, he was a "ghost." He was raised to believe in the Roman Catholic Church, but later said, "That guilt's not a part of my life anymore." Also when speaking with a priest who heard the confession of a murderer he said "I believe in science and I believe in God but I don't believe in someone telling me how to live my life." He tells Sara Sidle that, while he isn't really a Catholic anymore, he is a sort of "secular Catholic" who infuses his work with more meaning than it might otherwise have. He also continues to believe in God, as he tells her he believes both science and faith are necessary. He keeps his mother's rosary beads in a box in his office. Grissom's mother is deaf; because of this, he knows sign language. He has inherited his mother's otosclerosis, a disease which is causing him to slowly go deaf, but he undergoes corrective surgery.
Inasmuch as Grissom confides to anyone, he confides in Catherine Willows. He once likened her to being "his wife" though the two have never been more than very good friends. Of all of his fellow investigators, he is most similar to Sara Sidle. Both are self-described "science nerds" and are the most socially awkward pair on the team. While at times both have expressed more than a hint of interest in the other romantically, it is not until the sixth season finale that they are definitely shown to be involved. In seventh season episodes, he continues to be involved with Sara Sidle, but is keeping the relationship a secret from others in the lab, probably because of the repercussions it could have for his career and Sara's. Grissom has also been involved with forensic anthropologist Terri Miller and S&M parlor operator Lady Heather. He has supported Warrick Brown through several brushes with the law and has a fatherly bond with Nick Stokes. He shares a good friendship with Dr. Al Robbins. Most people refer to him as "Grissom." He is also often called "Griss", usually by Warrick Brown; Catherine Willows and coroner Dr. Al Robbins regularly refer to him as "Gil".
Other: Grissom's hobbies include his work, cockroach racing, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and riding roller coasters. Grissom keeps a variety of specimens in his office, including a radiated fetal pig and a tarantula. Intellectual and widely-read, Grissom often offers quotes from a variety of literary sources, particularly Shakespeare. He also works 'advanced' crossword puzzles and listens to loud classical music and opera in his office, especially when he wants to think.
Catherine Willows
Age: 48
Depiction: CSI Level III, Supervisor
Personality: Very strong individual. She's dedicated to her job, loyal to her friends, and not a person you'd want to cross. As a mother, she has sometimes let her personal feelings influence her feelings toward a case (the cheating spouse in. However, she doesn't lets those feelings affect the outcome of her work, as evidenced with as when Eddie was charged with rape. She has made assumptions about cases when she's begun work, but if evidence proves that assumption wrong, will readily follow the clues to the proper conclusion.
History: Catherine was born on a ranch in western Montana. She was the eldest daughter of fourth-generation ranchers, but the rural life was never for her. Catherine could ride before she could walk, but horses were always for taking her away from work. She left home for the first time as a sixteen-year-old. She lived in Seattle for a year with her would-be rock-star boyfriend, eking out a living as a waitress. When he left her for an older woman, she went home.to find home wasn't there anymore. Her parents had been forced to sell their ranch and moved to town. They made it clear that Catherine was on her own. The next stop for Catherine was Las Vegas.
She waited tables until she discovered a much more lucrative line of work: exotic dancing. The men loved her and the money poured in. Catherine spent it all on school and the aspiring career of her music-producing boyfriend, Eddie. Dating turned to engagement which turned to marriage. When their turbulent quasi-romance ended, Eddie left her with ten dollars in the bank, a coke habit, and a small child, Lindsey. Catherine pulled it together for her own sake and for the sake of her daughter. She didn't become a CSI because she wanted to right the wrongs of the world--she became a CSI because it makes her feel like a kid solving puzzles. She loves the challenge and she loves the buzz of working a case. It's a high for her--and anything that makes Catherine feel as good as she does can't be all bad.
Other: Specialises in Bloodstain spatter analysis.
Sara Sidle
Age: 35
Depiction: CSI Level III
Personality: Strong minded and rationnal, Sara is also passionated by her work. She also knows when it's time to have fun or be serious and always has this bright contagious smile that is proper to her personnality.
History: At a young age, Sara was forced into foster home after her mother killed her father. When she got 16, she went to study in Harvard where she got a few years later a Bachelor of Science in Physics. Then she was transfered to UC Berkley where she got her Masters. During this time, she worked in San Francisco Coroner's office where she became a CSI level II. That's were she met Gil Grissom, who later transfered her with him in Las Vegas. A relationship is going between both of them but it's not yet clear either for them or anyone else.
Other: Specialises in material and element analysis.
Greg Sanders
Age:23
Depiction: CSI Level I
History: Greg grew up in California where he was into a number of extreme sports, much to his parents chagrin. While a energetic child, Greg was also very bright having skipped both the first grade and the seventh. when he was 16 they moved to Vegas for his father's work. Greg was a true free spirit, and rebel. his parents, who wanted him to become a lawyer, were livid when they found out that he had decided to go into criminalistics. he, worked his way through college as a flobotomist, and became an expert on matters of blood and DNA. he was hired on at the Las Vegas Crime Lab and never looked back.
After several years working under Gil Grissom, and admiring the people who brought the samples to him, Greg put in an applications to become a field CSI. It was a slow, difficult process for someone who had been entirely based in a lab setting before. He had to confront some truly horrific scenes, and find a replacement for himself who, he believed, could do as good a job as he could. However, with the help of the other Field CSIs, Greg made it.
Other:
Jonathan Parker
Age: 24
sex: Male
Personality: A little too proud of himself, Jonathan likes to tease people because of their weaknesses. He also enjoy to think he's the best even when he isn't. When he can impress a woman, he does so but often his matcho side tend to go out to much which causes rejections from women. As a CSI, he's doing a great job but tend to ruin it by having bad relationships with authority and his collegues. He's meticulous and patient when it comes to resolve a crime but is often distracted by exterior things.
Depiction: CSI Level 1
History: Jonathan is the son of an accountant and a companies' assitant director but never was intereseted in bureaucracy himself. He always wanted his life to be filled with action and he found what he wanted becoming a CSI. He's got a degree in Science and Physics and a certificate in special forensic studies. He got transfered in LV after he finished his studies in California, where he worked for a couple of months with the LAPD.
Other: Although he enjoys thinking he's the best, Jonathan gets stressed out when he is put in front of too many responsabilities.
Jim Brass
Age:54
sex:Male
Personality: Has the same personality as every tough and good willed cop
Depiction: Homocide Detective
History:Brass spent 20 years working his way up to detective in New Jersey. While working in Vice, he worked hard to clean up his department, earning the emnity of many of his former colleagues (and the nickname 'squeaky,' as in 'squeaky clean'). Brass, under stress, sometimes drank and would cover it up by popping cough drops to hide the smell of alcohol on his breath . While his wife was having an affair with Vice cop Mike O'Toole, Brass was busy with his own affair with another member of the vice squad, Annie Kramer, who later moved to Los Angeles and was promoted to captain. Brass claims later that it was Nancy's (his then-wife) affair that ruined their marriage, rather than the other way around, and that she eventually just wanted a way out . Jim Brass transferred out of New Jersey in the 1990s and came to Las Vegas. He eventually came to run the CSI department, more as an administrator than as an investigator. Showing as an example of how much he trusts the team Brass has stated that he would want Gil Grissom's CSI team to investigate his murder; he gave Grissom Power of Attorney rights should anything happen to him, which proved useful when Grissom chose go ahead with his risky but life-saving surgery when he was shot. Brass served in the United States Marine Corps.

Nick Stokes
Age: 36

Depiction: CSI Level 3
History: Nick studied at Texas A&M University (where he also became known for his fraternity involvement). He worked at the Dallas Crime Lab as a Level 1 CSI for a year before transferring to Las Vegas. His interest in law enforcement started with his father, a former DA turned court justice; and his mother a public defender. He is close to those in his family but he moved to Vegas to have a chance to be on his own and away from his other older siblings.
